It’s happened to all of us: a simple task such as unclipping the connector from the crankshaft position sensor becomes complicated when the connector breaks on removal! The plastic is affected by heat and the older the connector the more brittle it becomes. Then you contact the dealer only to find that they won’t sell you a connector on its own — you have to buy the whole connector and the associated wiring spur. Sounds expensive.

39862) or a 3-Pin Crankshaft Sensor Connector Kit for JLR (part number

Both these kits include two new 3-pin female connectors complete with the correct non-insulated terminals and weatherproof seals to fit the crankshaft position sensor. Release the wiring and connectors from the existing (broken) connector, and refit to the new connector. If the metal terminals are damaged, fit the new ones supplied.

39862 kit fits the crankshaft position sensor as fitted to the 2.0L Ford EcoBlue diesel engine — suitable for use on Ford Focus (from 2018), Galaxy (from 2018), Mondeo (from 2019), Ranger (from 2019), S MAX (from 2018), Tourneo Custom (from 2016), Transit (from 2016) and Transit Custom (from 2016).
